A complete set of covers:- sprayhood, cockpit enclosure complete with stainless steel bars and fittings, dodgers, and stackpack. The owners of this boat were originally keen sailors who went over to motor for a while, and are now back under sail. The cockpit enclosure certainly provides additional space in which the family can sit comfortably out of the rain, but can still see everything that's going on outside. The stackpack is a great improvement on the traditional sailcover, which is such hard work to fit at the end of a day's sailing.

Stackpack

Anyone who has replaced a sailcover with a stackpack will tell you that at the end of a hard day's sailing, it is so much easier to drop your sail into a bag on the boom than to try and wrap your sail up as it does its' best to escape onto the deck! We measure our nose cones after the main section is fitted, so that they fit snugly around the mast.

A local design company made a working model house to order, and needed a travelling case for it. We always like a challenge, and came up with this, made in foil bag material which is foam lined, with a zipped flap for easy access,webbing carry handles and a reinforced base for stability.

All over cover

Although this looks like a winter cover, it has another use, as the owner needs to be able to work on deck without getting wet! It also creates additional storage, so that while the interior is being refurbished, everything can be stored on deck under the cover. The cover is in three parts, very lightweight being made of topgun fabric, and packs up into three small bundles for storage when not in use.

Upholstery

A new set of upholstery ready to be fitted in the Spring. A lot of time went into getting all the stripes to run from cushion to cushion, but the finished result was worth the effort. There is an amazing selection of fabrics available, and we only use those suitable for severe contract use. This set has been made with new foam, cut to the shape of the seating area, but we can also re-cover your old foam (if it's still viable), and make repairs to your existing upholstery (if it isn't too rotten!)Sometimes it's better just to start from new, bearing in mind that we only use fire retardant foam, and plastic moulded zips.

5.8M RIB cover in topgun

We actually make a variety of RIB covers, some to tie down to trailers, and others attached with RIB hooks for use on the water. During the winter this 5.8m RIB is kept on a trailer, and has a small 'A' frame at the aft end, where we added cut-outs, tie collars and a flap to keep the water out, together with a zip for ease of removal. The cover also completely encloses the outboard.

"Papillon" - 40' Wauquiez - cockpit enclosure

The cockpit of this boat is very wide and long, and as the owner also wanted to use the enclosure as a bimini, a lot of thought went into the design of the bars. In the end, we used two bars, each split in the middle for ease of storage. The enclosure has eight windows, including one in the top section, and zip up sides and aft section, so that all sections can be rolled up or zipped out of the way to provide the bimini.

We have just manufactured and fitted a sprayhood, mizzen sailcover and reinforced mainsail cover with cut-outs and tie collars for topping lift, for this beautiful boat built by the owner. The hood has a low profile design to suit the clean lines of the boat.

Although today was bitterly cold, perhaps the best place to be was in the new cockpit enclosure on board this Moody. On a beautiful sunny (but cold) day, the enclosure proved its worth. To be able to sit on deck out of the wind and watch the world go by, is perhaps one of several good reasons for adding an enclosure to your sprayhood. On this occasion, we have also made a new sprayhood, new dodgers and a new stackpack to be fitted shortly.

Bimini - Jeanneau 37'

Always difficult to get good pictures of a bimini, they look so insignificant. The reality though is very different. The design and fitting of the stainless steel bars (three on this one), takes hours of work. The design part of the work involves getting the shapes right, the right height to suit the customers needs, and also to end up with bars that fit neatly together when the bimini is folded into its storage sock. The bimini also needs to work around the backstays, on this occasion with zips up to the stays, and splits on the forward bar so that when stored all the bars can be taken behind the backstays.

The latest in a succession of cockpit enclosures. This time, the customer already had a serviceable hood made by others, to which we made alterations to improve the fit. The enclosure is also designed to act as a bimini with fully zipped out side and aft sections. To use the bimini section alone the cover has been made higher, so that whoever is helming can stand upright under the bimini. There is also a window in the top section providing a good view from the steering position.

With our delightful (!) British weather, cockpit enclosures are becoming very popular. On sunny days the cockpit enclosure becomes a bimini, with roll up sides and aft section. Whatever the weather, a new sprayhood and enclosure will provide an extra "room" on board, and has been described by some of our customers as their conservatory!

Yacht upholstery

A set of upholstery for a Mirage 30'. The fabric is actually acrylic canvas, which keeps the cost down, but is still very durable and comfortable. A wide range of striped and patterned acrylics are available. Thickness of foam can be adjusted according to your requirements, for example this set has 4" foam in the forepeak and saloon seating, and 2" foam backrests, with Velcro for attachment. All cushions are zipped and wadded.

"Nanjizal" a Hallberg-Rassy 342, has the first of the Winter 2008 lay-up covers made in topgun fabric. The aft end has a zip up doorway for easy access during the winter, and air vents on the top sides. The boat will stay dry and clean all winter!

Frances - Westerly Oceandream cockpit enclosure and sprayhood

Just fitted, a new sprayhood and cockpit enclosure. The sprayhood is fitted via a boltrope track to an existing screen, and gives great height. The cockpit enclosure zips to the sprayhood with a single bar aft which splits in the centre for easy storage. Both sides and aft sections roll up.

Eloise - Dell Quay Marlin tonneau cover

A simple tonneau cover, but as you can see from those alongside Eloise, a tonneau looks so much better if it has the correct tension! We also supplied the customer with an extending aluminium pole and fitted eyelet to provide additional support if required.

The Valiant - A Falmouth quay punt

Fitted today, this cockpit cover provides rain, wind and sun protection for a real old wooden classic (circa 1921). The hatch cover protects the varnish, but allows light into the cabin. This 34' boat also has a copper sheathed bottom!

Puffin - sprayhood and cockpit enclosure

We have just fitted a sprayhood and cockpit enclosure to "Puffin", a Moody Eclipse 33. The aft section and both side sections unzip for greater flexibility, and the large windows make it easy to sail with the enclosure in place. Using zips and "Lift The Dot" studs, the enclosure is easy to remove and stores tidily away in a bag supplied.

Our latest sprayhood fitted today, on "Ann Louise" a Hunter 29.5. We designed the shape of the bars, and added a grab rail, and the finished article is sturdy and attractive.
